Sean Saint, Chief Executive Officer. Sean Saint is responsible for assembling the corporate team and managing day-to-day operations of the Company. He has over 15 years of engineering experience in medical devices and various startups. Sean is a Type1 diabetic and well-known in the diabetes community.
Prior to starting Companion Medical, his career has ranged through Director of Advanced Technology and Mechanical Engineer at Tandem Diabetes Care, Co-Founder and Vice President of R&D at Alure Medical, Engineering Manager at Dexcom, and Senior Engineer at Medtronic/AVE. Saint has 75 issued and pending patent applications.
Saint holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of California.
Marty Holmquist, Vice President of Research and Design. Marty Holmquist is a senior system and electrical engineer with extensive experience in product and project development, medical device development, and firmware and circuit design.
Holmquist is responsible for the technical development of Companion’s products and R&D team management. Before joining the company, he held engineering and management positions in medical devices and aerospace companies. Holmquist and Saint partnered to develop technology that served as the basis for the first real-time continuous glucose monitor available on the market.
Holmquist holds a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from the University of Minnesota, with a minor in computer science, and is listed as the inventor on five diabetes patents.
Jasper Benke, Vice President of RA, Quality Assurance, and CA. Jasper Benke is a medical device professional specializing in strategy development and meeting quality, regulatory, clinical, and business objectives.
Benke has more than eighteen years of experience in the medical device industry, including implementing U.S. and outside the U.S. regulatory strategy, FDA- and ISO- quality systems, and clinical program management for healthcare-related start-up companies.
Benke holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
